Top Tips for Facebook

I don’t brag. Sometimes when I speak about what I have achieved it sounds like bragging. But I certainly worked to get to where I am. So when I announced at the #IrishBizParty on Twitter that my Facebook page reached 20,000 people, hesitantly I may add, I was delighted to feel the support and enthusiasm of my fellow twitter pals.
Which is why I’m here – Thanks Dorcas for asking me to share my top tips! But I don’t have a list of tips to share, I just have a few pointers that have guided me along the way. The more rules you set yourself the more complicated it gets, so make it simple!
Love what you do
– I love my work, I love the connection with people and being witness to that moment when they get it. When they understand what they are made of and how to work with it, rather than against it. So I talk a lot about how to do that. Not the why, or the should, but the how. And people love what I do because of that.
Be authentic
This actually goes back to the first point – being real, walking your talk. I can’t tell people to look after themselves better if I don’t look after myself... It shows!
Combining 1 & 2 you get 3 – make real connections. The people out there are real, each one is important and just as important in the world as you are. So treat them that way. They’re not stupid either, so don’t try to please them – they’ll find out sooner or later.
When I started out I “liked” everything, now I just like what I like. I can be my authentic self, come from loving what I do and be happy to be me, knowing that not everyone will get it, but everyone can feel the love behind it.
If you want to hear me talk more about this I’m a guest speaker on Online Empowerment Formula – Connection Without Overwhelm – you can sign up here– or if it’s past the sell by date you can listen to the recording.
