Writing Blogs

So, I used to write a blog. And then I got rid of it.
I got rid of it because I wasn't updating it often enough, and I have to say that the amount of spammy comments coming in surprised me.
SEO has changed a lot in the last couple of years. In fact, I'm somehow uncomfortable with the term SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). It's a little misleading. Some people think that you need to get 'great SEO' - but it's not as simple as that.
Yes there are lots of things that you can do when you're making the site, to make it helpful and useful for a search engine to find you. But the search engines are becoming cleverer, and better.
SEO (if it should even still be called that) is now about
- Optimising your site
- Content
- Links
- Social Media
Links and Social Media are also becoming intertwined anyway. I think that once you've optimised your site, you can sum up the rest by thinking of trying to think of something interesting enough for people to share.
And this is why I am finally coming back to my blog. I'm going to regularly update with topics that I think will a) attract people and b) be interesting enough for people to share.
Stay tuned for that so!
