First we design, then we build.
Before building a website, the design needs to be made and finalised. At Zonua, we want to make unique websites for the needs and wants of each client. We always meet potential in clients in person. This enables us to explain what Zonua is about and discuss the options, but more importantly find out exactly what the client wants.
We make mock-ups using Photoshop, which are images of how the end-website could look.
The things needed to be figured out at this stage are the overall style and the exact content needed on the website.
- We need to figure out how many pages, what sort of content needed, such as the type of text, how images should be displayed, if any.
- You can put at much, or as little input into the website design as you like.
- If you have images that you need on the website, like logos, product images, images of your premises or staff, we can see how to incorporate them into the website at this stage.
Once a website is designed, it needs to be built. There are a number of technologies that can be used.
Photoshop:for making backgrounds, images for menu backgrounds, editing photographs.
XHTML:or Extensible Hypertext Markup Language, is the language in which web pages are written, and usually holds the basic building blocks of the website.
CSS:Cascading Style Sheets, used to define the layout of the XHTML elements, like positioning things on the page, or to change to the colours and sizes of the text.
PHP:Hypertext Preprocessor, is a scripting language, used for dynamic websites.
ASP:Active Server Pages, can contain scripts, html and text, and can be for dynamic web pages or to respond to data submitted by a user.
VBScript:the default scripting language in ASP.
Once the website is built, we send it to you to review, and then perform whatever modifications you need.
We don't consider the job done, until you are 100% satisfied.
Finally, before uploading, we check the website in all of the main browsers and machines, to make sure it's working properly.
